8 Outfits With Non-Fashion Brands
What The Frakta?
We are sure you did not miss the news about Balenciaga’s big blue carryalls that looked (a lot) like the large plastic IKEA tote. And do you remember Vetements’ DHL T-shirt, whose main designer is also Balenciaga’s current creative director? Coincidence? I think not.
So what’s next? A Balenciaga version of Swedish meatballs? At Stylight, we decided to play fashion forecaster by styling eight items of our favourite (non-fashion) brands.
1. IKEA
IKEA
The IKEA t-shirt combines two spring-summer 2017 trends we love: graphic prints and sunshine yellow. And after Balenciaga launched their big blue carryalls, we cannot help but think that IKEA is the new black. Therefore, we styled the IKEA shirt in a very Scandi way, by just adding one extra ‘color’, black, and by combining it with wardrobe staples every Swedish fashionista owns: a blazer, a pair of comfortable but chic shoes and socks worth showing off.

2. McDonald's
McDonald's
Who remembers the McDonald’s-inspired Fall 2014 collection by Jeremy Scott for Moschino? We loved the mix of fast food with fast fashion! Therefore, we’ve combined the McDonald’s shirt with a (ketchup) red blazer. You see how the shoulder pads create the iconic heart shaped “M”? Paired with chic white pants and comfy Adidas; we’re lovin’ it!

3. Europcar
Europcar
The Europcar-green reminds us of the first days of spring, when nature’s greens revive and all we want to do is hit the road, Jack. Whether they are handing you your car keys at the front desk or checking-out your car at the end of your trip, Europcar employees are ready to welcome you in more than 140 countries. Therefore, we’ve paired the t-shirt with a piece that works for every trip: a camel coat. Add a pair of high waisted jeans to the below-the-knee coat for a little contrast, and top the outfit off with cool sandals and sunnies for a playful and dynamic look!

4. Foodora
Foodora
Metallic midi skirts have been waking the magpie in seemingly every street style photographer for the past seasons. And to us, it's easy to see why. We took an artful approach with a mash-up of unexpected colors and paired the shiny gold with the Foodora jacket in grey and hot pink. Do you know the feeling when you order food and you hear the doorbell ring? That’s how we feel about this look.

5. Hornbach
Hornbach
There was once a time when the idea of wearing suit trousers to work connoted all business, no style. No more. I mean, look at this outfit. We’ve stuck to the khaki color palette with this look and paired the Hornbach shirt with suit trousers and metallic sandals.

6. Saturn
Saturn
Go blue! We’ve paired the blue shirt with a raincoat that reminded us of saturn, the planet one. We’ve embraced the orange-blue clash and matched the shirt with trousers, in Saturn-logo orange, of course.

7. Lidl
Lidl
For this look, we’re inspired by Chanel’s autumn winter 2014 show in Paris. We can totally picture ourselves, pushing a trolley in this supermarket chic look featuring the Lidl shirt. We gave the outfit a sporty touch by pairing it with the flat boots and a white cap. Ready, set, shop!

8. DPD
DPD
Who knew the D in ‘DPD’ stood for dope? Ok, it doesn’t. But you have to admit, this outfit screams dopeness. We’ve paired the DPD trousers with an oversized shirt and bomber jacket. We want to wear this right away, even if that means we have to deliver some packages. Ding dong, delivery!
