It’s one of the most wearable trends and one of the easiest items to style. Stripes. Yes. We said that. Because hey, there’s not a lot of styles that a two-year-old girl and a grandpa can both wear. From a timeless sailor-worthy look to an effortlessly chic outfit à la Olivia Palermo: stripes are everywhere this season.
The classic breton top (the nautical blue-and-white stripes) originate from Brittany, the French coastal region. Seamen wore it as a uniform. It was upon a visit to the coast that Coco Chanel came across the tops and used it as her main inspiration for a nautical collection in 1917. The stripes fashion items were born.
